Axel Stenross Maritime Museum
This museum centres around the original boat-building workshop of the late Axel Stenross, a Finnish boat builder who set up his business in Port Lincoln in the 1920s. See relics of the windjammer era and maritime photographs, a working slipway and blacksmith's shop.
Mount Laura Homestead Museum
A former sheep station homestead. You'll find a fully restored and furnished cottage, an engine shed with more than 60 engines, and an old steam locomotive.
Whyalla Maritime Museum
This includes the largest permanently landlocked ship in Australia, the HMAS Whyalla wartime corvette. See a World War II display that tells the story of the four corvettes built in Whyalla.
Powerhouse Restored Engine Centre
Offers an evergrowing collection of old working stationary engines.
Franklin Harbour Historical Museum
Sitting in a former post office, circa 1888, this was restored by the National Trust and houses early day artefacts, memorabilia and geographical specimens from the local area.
National Trust Agricultural & Folk Museum
Inside the original council chambers built in 1913, also the old council depot sheds and original Cleve gaol cell. Look through early records and photographs, household articles belonging to pioneering families, early farming tools and more. You'll also find implements made by local craftsmen.
Koppio Smithy Museum
This is a museum complex made up of a fully restored blacksmith's shop built in 1903, an historic cottage, former school house, Heritage Hall and more. There's a large fleet of vintage tractors and stationary engines, horse-drawn vehicles and agricultural machinery of yesteryear. You'll see a first hand view of the hardships and lifestyle of the area's early pioneers.
