Bushwalking in the Limestone Coast
The Limestone Coast has some great bushwalks and the top seven have been rated by the ABC South East.
- The Butterfly Walk (Penambol Conservation Park - between Mt Gamber and Nelson)
- The Orchard Hike (Ngarkat Conservation Park, off the Centre Track)
- Jip Jip Rocks Conservation Park (30kms northwest of Padthaway)
- Dry Creek Walk (just north of Donovans)
- Cape Buffon Walk (Canunda National Park, access via Southend)
- Alkes Nature Trail (Coorong National Park, near Salt Creek)
- Lake Eliza walk (Little Dip Conservation Park, off Nora Creina Rd)
Be prepared when walking in the bush:
- Carry sufficient food and drinking water. Allow four litres of water per person, per day. Do not rely on tanks or creeks for water.
- Keep to the defined walking rail.
- Inform a responsible person of your proposed route and expected time of return.
- Weather conditions can change quickly. Ensure you have appropriate wet weather clothing.
