Enjoy nature-based adventures at the breathtaking Vivonne Bay. To get the adrenalin pumping, try kayaking or Yamaha Odyssey all-terrain vehicles (ATVs). Take adult and mini (available for children over 12 years) ATV bikes through 500 acres of bushland trails. ATV night tours are also conducted where you are guaranteed to see kangaroos, wallabies and possums and much more! Sailboards, bodyboards, sandboards and surfboards are also available for hire. Little Sahara
Location: Off the South Coast Road, Vivonne Bay

This is an area of spectacular white sand-dunes, surrounded by bush vegetation. Climbing over the first ridge you are confronted by a second much higher dune which, when scaled, does not reveal the coast as one would expect, but more dunes flanked by bushland. Take your sandboard and climb to the top of the razorback ridges and enjoy a thrilling ride back to the bottom of the dune. There is no charge for your enjoyment of Little Sahara, please respect this environment and leave only your footprints behind.
Emu Bay Lavender

This beautifully presented farm showcases a range of lavender varieties in terraced rows. Walk among the garden and then relax with a cup of tea or coffee and a lavender biscuit, included in the small entry fee. The charming gift shop includes lavender essential oil, scented candles, soap, fire sticks and other Kangaroo Island lavender products. Conducting true in-field outdoor education extensions of the in-school classroom. Guided programs for national and international students are conducted year-round and offer technical field study residential camps, with programs prepared to group needs. The centre also offers nature and wildlife tours for adult and general interest groups. Fee applies.

Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Distillery

During the 1930s there were 48 eucalyptus stills in operation employing over 600 people on Kangaroo Island. Today, Emu Ridge is the only commercial eucalyptus distillery in operation in South Australia. The technology of this operation may surprise you! The rustic outlook hides some clever bush technology and processes which are simple yet effective. Emu Ridge is self-sufficient with solar, steam and wind power. Free entry, tour fee applies.

Rare Breeds Farm

A conservation project with a difference, saving rare, heritage and unusual breeds of domesticated farm animals from extinction. Less than 4,000 breeds of domesticated farm animals exists globally and these are becoming extinct at a rate of two breeds per week. Many of the breeds kept are critically endangered and not on public display anywhere else in the world. A highly informative personal guided tour is provided.
