State Forests
Enjoy picnicking, bushwalking, camping and more in South Australia's state forests. A number of major events, such as horse endurance rides, car rallies and field days are also held in forests throughout the year.
You'll find good walking trails and camp sites at Mount Crawford and Kuitpo forests in the Mount Lofty Ranges. Download more information about Mount Crawford and Kuitpo at the Forestry SA website.
The forests at Bundaleer and Wirrabara are also popular and provide opportunities to see spectacular country in the southern Flinders Ranges. See more information at the Forestry SA website.
To ensure the protection of these valuable community assets from fire, camping and barbecues are not allowed during the fire danger season. Please note that forest reserves are closed on fire ban days. The Country Fire Service provides information on "fire restrictions" or telephone 1300 362 361.
