Celebrate a summertime Christmas with one of the many joyful events taking place around South Australia.
Bring your family and friends to the annual Carols At The Academy, presented by the South Australia Police and its band. The evening includes free amusements and police car rides for children.
Head to seaside Victor Harbor for its Christmas Pageant. This evening street parade is a colourful display of more than 30 floats. A magic cave will be set up on Warland Reserve for children to meet Father Christmas, with more than 500 Christmas gifts to present the children. Carols by the Sea follows the pageant. Victor Harbor is also hosting a Christmas Tree Exhibition.
Strathalbyn in the Fleurieu Peninsula is hosting a Christmas Party and you're invited. Activities include free rides for the children, Father Christmas, a carol service in the park and fireworks.
It's all happening in Loxton during Christmas. Head to this Riverland town for Loxton's Christmas Wonderland, lighting displays, fireworks, Santa's Walk 9006842, church tours and more. Barmera also hosts a Christmas Pageant and fireworks. Entertainment includes amusement rides, great food and fun for all ages.
The Lights of Lobethal is one of South Australia's most well known Christmas light displays. This Adelaide Hills town comes alive with lights, street stalls and markets and Christmas crowds.
On sunny Yorke Peninsula, head to the Moonta Christmas Pageant and carols. See more than 40 floats and 400 locals in colourful costumes complementing the new and traditional fairytale and storybook themes. A "must see" for all the family.
Or celebrate Christma, Aussie style - see Sand Sculpting in Port Adelaide. This waterside suburb becomes the home of Sand Sculpting Australia for eight weeks. Lighthouse Square has been transformed by 12 sculptors from Australia and around the world, who have carved 1,500 tonnes of sand into extraordinary sculptures.
And when Christmas Day has passed, it's time for New Year's celebrations! Join Adelaide's New Year's Eve party at Elder Park, on the banks of the River Torrens. There'll be fireworks, entertainment for children, live bands and more. Entry is free.
