Global Green Challenge (incorporating World Solar Challenge)
The Global Green Challenge is a trial and exhibition of ecologically friendly vehicles through the heart of Australia's iconic landscape.
Stretching 3,000 kilometres from Darwin to Adelaide, the event puts technology, research, manufacturing advancement and sheer determination to the test as the cars of the future lead the drive towards a healthier planet.
The Global Green Challenge comprises two categories:
World Solar Challenge - for purely solar-powered vehicles
Eco Challenge - for environmentally friendly production and experimental vehicles
Through its two parts - the World Solar Challenge and the Eco Challenge - the Global Green Challenge gives the world a sneak peek into cars of the future.
Public displays will be held in Darwin and Adelaide, with an urban cycle for the Eco Challenge vehicles also conducted in Adelaide. An associated event will be held in Alice Springs.
