Glenelg Tram
The Glenelg Tram takes you from the Adelaide city centre to one of South Australia's most popular seaside destinations, Glenelg.
The Glenelg Tram takes a 10.8 kilometres (6-mile) journey and is Adelaide's only tramway. Until January 2006, vintage H-class tram cars provided all services on the Glenelg line. Since that time, they've been joined by a new fleet of modern trams - 11 new light rail vehicles that provide day-to-day service. You can still enjoy the heritage trams on weekends and public holidays.
Glenelg is certainly a destination worth travelling to. Apart from its sandy beach, it offers a fabulous dining and shopping strip, Jetty Road. There's also Adelaide's newest amusement complex, The Beachouse; rides on Temptation Sailing to see dolphins; or thrills with Hel-a-va jet boat.
Glenelg has a reputation for relaxed outdoor activities in and around Moseley Square and the foreshore. On weekends you'll find activities like kids go-karts, bungee trampoline, buskers, camel rides, markets and more.
So hop onto the tram and take the journey.
