Butcher, Baker, Winemaker Trail
Barossa has arguably Australia's only true regional cuisine. You can discover this thriving and distinctive food and wine culture on the Butcher, Baker, Winemaker Trail. The first of its kind established in South Australia, the trail leads to local wineries, dining venues and businesses that offer intimate food and wine experiences and products made with traditional methods and ingredients.
You can also visit retailers and artisans, join specialist tours and enjoy complimentary experiences that have a gourmet theme. Barossa Cheese & Wine Trail
Linger longer and enjoy a fabulous wine and food-matching experience. Purchase a Barossa-branded cooler bag containing a cheese knife, a small cheeseboard made from old oak barrels, four locally made cheeses and crackers, and a trail map [PDF 778 kb]. There are six routes to follow, each one including five wineries within close vicinity to each other.
When you arrive at each cellar door, make your wine tasting selection and match it to a cheese from the cooler bag - a great way to make wine selections to take home and share with friends and family. On sale from the Barossa Valley Cheese Company at 67b Murray Street in Angaston.
Para Road Wine Path
If you want to mix walking and wine, stroll along the Para Road Wine Path. This trail [PDF 207 kb] links four of Tanunda's cellar doors - Stanley Lambert, Richmond Grove, Peter Lehmann Wines and Langmeil Winery - winding its way alongside the Para River and vineyards, some more than 160 years old.
Each November these cellar doors unveil a new Barossa wine accompanied by delicious food, light unobtrusive music and other surprises at the Para Road Wine Path Day.
