Desert Parks Pass
Grab a Desert Parks Pass to make the most out of your desert discovery.
The $95 Desert Parks Pass (including permit, handbook, park maps and wildlife information) allows 12 months unlimited access to South Australia's 12 million hectares of desert parks.
It covers Witjira National Park, Simpson Desert Conservation Park and Regional Reserve, Innamincka Regional Reserve including Coongie Lakes, Wamba Kadarbu Conservation Park and Lake Eyre National Park. Camping in Tallaringa Conservation Park, near Coober Pedy, is permitted only in clear areas within 50 metres of the Anne Beadell Highway.
Travellers wishing to camp only briefly in a desert park can obtain camping permits for Dalhousie Springs, the Innamincka zone and Lake Eyre National Park.
And it's best to avoid desert parks in the summer months, when temperatures can reach 50°C or higher.
