Murphy's Haystacks
Murphy's Haystacks are ancient wind-worn pillars and boulders of pink granite estimated to be more than 1500 million years old. They're one of the most popular and photographed attractions on the Eyre Peninsula. You can explore and discover this majestic landscape with a walking track and interpretive signage. Rest at the sheltered picnic facilities. Murphy's Haystacks are 40 kilometres southeast of Streaky Bay, just 2 kilometres off the Flinders Highway on the main road into Calca and Point Labatt.
Pildappa Rock
Pildappa Rock is an isolated granite inselberg, with spectacular wave-like formations. It's approximately 15 kilometres north of Minnipa. There are picnic and barbecue facilities there. Camping is permitted in the grounds.
Polda Rock Recreational Reserve
Located 7 kilometres from Wudinna (on the way to Mount Wudinna) this reserve has been developed to include shelters, barbecue, picnic and toilet facilities as well as an interesting walking trail. This site is of great interst to bird watchers. The water caught from Polda and Mount Wudinna is pumped in to the township of Wudinna for use in town beatification and sports ovals.
Mount Wudinna
Mount Wudinna is South Australia's largest exposed monolith - and it's worthwhile walking to the top, for the fantastic views on offer. It's approximately 12 kilometres northeast of Wudinna. The nearby reserve has a barbecue shelter, picnic and toilets.
Tcharkulda Rock
A massive granite outcrop featuring the large spectacular boulders. You'll find a public picnic and recreational area here. There is an excellent example of a "Shepherd's Hut" within the reserve, which has been restored to its original state. Tcharkulda Rock is six kilometres east of Minnipa and Bockelberg Road.
