Four-Wheel-Driving
South Australia's Outback offers magnificent four-wheel-driving routes. You can take to legendary trails like the Birdsville, Oodnadatta, Googs or Strzelecki Track. They're key to unlocking our wide open spaces, retracing our heritage, and experiencing your own Outback adventure.
Many pastoral families around the Flinders Ranges have established 4WD routes on their properties. Some are pretty tough, but you'll be rewarded with stunning outlooks. One drive you'll never forget is the Simpson Desert crossing between Birdsville and Mount Dare. This 500-kilometre route passes over mountainous red sand dunes and includes the beautiful surrounds and soothing waters of Dalhousie Springs.
