Gay and Lesbian
South Australia is home to a thriving, passionate gay and lesbian community, a host of gay and lesbian friendly tourism experiences and the annual lesbian and gay cultural festival, Feast - one of the three major gay and lesbian festivals in Australia.
The Feast Festival features a program of theatre, cabaret, comedy, film, forums, literature, dance, visual arts, tourism, sporting and community events. Keep an eye on their website for more information Feast website.
Every year, a Pride March is held through the streets of Adelaide, just as they are all over the world, to celebrate gay and lesbian diversity. Go to the Adelaide Pride website for more information.
Accommodation
Stay in an historic country house, a city apartment, or a houseboat on the river. There's a wide variety of accommodation to choose from in South Australia. Some of our accommodation operators are registered with Gay and Lesbian Travel (GALTA). This means they specifically welcome gay and lesbian travellers. Find a list at the GALTA website. Pubs and clubs
You'll find Adelaide's pubs, clubs and bars incredibly welcoming everywhere you go. But the most popular hangouts for the local gay and lesbian set include:
