Wine & Food
Honey from pure strain Ligurian bees, regional cheeses and yoghurts, native jams, fresh oysters, prawns, crayfish, whiting, snapper and marron - it's so easy to get a taste for Kangaroo Island. The food here is so fabulous, it's become a community called Good Food Kangaroo Island.
It's all part of Kangaroo Island's food and wine renaissance with a growing number of producers, farm gates, cellar doors and restaurants offering you a sample.
And Kangaroo Island has named Australia's Best Regional Food Destination at the Vogue Entertaining and Travel Audi Produce Awards.
This award, announced in March 2007, acknowledge outstanding producers who 'create the vibrant food culture'. It's a prestigious accolade for the Island's quality food and wine.
