Winners Catherine and Anna experienced seafood and scenery on the coast, a whole bunch of wineries in McLaren Vale, Harley's in the Hills, shopping in the city and - not surprisingly - they left with a little extra baggage.
Arrive Adelaide and transfer by limousine
Dinner at Augé
Accommodation: Majestic Roof Garden Hotel
“At Augé we are greeted with a glass of Belussi Prosecco that wakes up our palates in preparation for the flavour onslaught that is to follow. Considering Augé literally translates as 'to continuously strive to be at one's peak' as well as 'to be popular' - I think the name is highly appropriate considering the way Anna and I reacted to every morsel of food that was brought to the table.” Catherine

“We spent a good four hours enjoying the food, wine and attentive service in this beautiful, glowing restaurant. The secret's out - let's keep it between you and I though because I still want to be able to book a table at Auge next time I'm in Adelaide!” Anna

“In the spirit of the evening (indulgent) we conquered the chocolate fondant with liquorice semifreddo." Anna
Travel by limousine to the Jam Factory
Stop at Haighs, South Australia's finest chocolates
Take a Heritage Tour of Magill Estate
Lunch at Magill Estate Restaurant
Shopping at the designer boutiques on King William Road
“ Now, everyone has heard of a wee little wine called 'Grange', and if you haven't I guess it can best be described as the mother of all wines. We don't crack open the sacred elixir of life but we do try a few other premium Penfolds wines and make sure we don't leave without a few bottles to take-away.” Catherine

“We float across to the Magill Estate Restaurant, which is like hovering above a vineyard. The brilliant green vines and kingfisher blue sky flood through the floor to ceiling glass wall of the restaurant and onto our table. The crisp white colours inside along with, again - truly amazing cuisine - left us wondering why we haven't been here earlier.” Anna

“Adelaide women are truly spoilt. The vintage shopping that has been put together really is a shoppers dream.” Catherine
Tour the Fleurieu Peninsula with 'Life is a Cabernet' tours
Cheese tasting at Blessed Cheese
Wineries - Hardy's Tintara Winery / Coriole Winery / Wirra Wirra Vineyards /Penny's Hill
Lunch at Star of Greece
Dinner at Amalfi Pizzeria Ristorante
Organic cocktails at Distill
"Dropped in to Tintara and the beautiful Coriole Winery (a personal favourite), then on to Wirra Wirra, Penny's Hill and Fox Creek. Our host insisted we try the best wine each had to offer. We didn't argue." Catherine

“ It's so relaxing to watch the rolling green hills as we wind our way to McLaren Vale in the Fleurieu Peninsula. First stop: Blessed Cheese to pick up a hamper for our cheese & wine trail, which is custom designed to perfectly match the wines we tasted. I'm baffled as to how anyone can attempt a wine tasting without one.” Catherine

“ Our day amongst the vines was lush, green and very beautiful. We were led through the stunning landscape to charming wineries throughout the Adelaide Hills and Fleurieu Peninsula, tasting the wonderfully complex and subtle flavours of some of the best wines in the area - it was a real treat to be surrounded by such splendour.” Anna

“ Lunch at the Star of Greece, now I'm starting to sound like a broken record here, but surprise surprise, Star of Greece was also amazing. The soft shell crab was deliciously crispy, yet still allowing the flavour of the crab to permeate through it's lightly fried shell.” Catherine
Travel by Harley to the Adelaide Hills
Morning tea at the Organic Market & Cafe in Stirling
Lunch at Hahndorf Hill Winery
Relax and recuperate at Aquador Retreat
“ Hahndorf Hill Winery really is a place not to be missed. The wines truly are special - the Pinot Grigio being a standout and anyone visiting musn't leave without experiencing lunch on the balcony, as everything on the menu is truly satisfying, especially the cucumber mousse which has to be tried to be believed.” Catherine

“ We were heading for bliss - Aquador Retreat at Oakbank, which is a specialised wellness centre. Initially I challenge the idea of how a spa/sauna/shower/sauna/plunge pool routine could really be effective but I am quickly shown that there's obviously a reason that people have been doing this for 2000 odd years! Afterwards I nearly fall asleep due to an overwhelming sense of serenity, which lasts all afternoon.” Anna

“It's so easy to be seduced by South Australia's restaurants, wineries, scenery, coastline and its many locals. It's no wonder that everyone we met had no desire to leave.” Anna
