Day 1 Adelaide to Wilpena Pound
Travel with Haydyn Bromley of the multiple award-winning Bookabee Australia to the Central Flinders Ranges. Head north from Adelaide to Port Augusta and visit the Wadlata Outback Centre to learn about the history and culture of the Flinders Ranges and Outback life. After lunch, travel on to visit an Aboriginal site with ancient cave paintings. Head on to Wilpena Pound Resort. Nestled at the base of Wilpena Pound, the resort is on the banks of Wilpena Creek in the Flinders Ranges, amid red gums and native pines.
Overnight: Wilpena Pound Resort.

Day 2 Wilpena Pound to Arkaroola
Start the day with an early morning scenic flight. Marvel at one of Australia's most dramatic sights - the magnificent natural amphitheatre of Wilpena Pound. Take a bird's eye view of the majesty of Wilpena, including St Mary's Peak and Sacred Canyon.
Continue travelling through the Flinders Ranges. Listen to creation stories of the Adnyamathanha people at traditional significant sites and see ancient paintings and engravings. Stop at Weetootla Gorge and look for the endangered Yellow-Footed Rock Wallaby before arriving at Arkaroola Wilderness Sanctuary.
Overnight: Arkaroola Wilderness Sanctuary. Arkaroola is a spectacular wildlife sanctuary with fascinating geological formations, rugged mountains and mysterious waterholes. It's home to more than 160 species of birds and the shy Yellow-footed Rock-wallaby.

Set out in the morning with a visit to Stubbs waterhole and an ochre wall in Welcome Pound. Learn about the traditional medicinal and ceremonial uses of ochre. After lunch take the afternoon Ridge Top tour, one of the most exciting tourist drives in the Flinders Ranges.
Narrow tracks scramble over fantastic climbs and along razorback ridges, plunging periodically into deep valleys and gorges.
The tour passes the site of Australia's 1910 Radium discovery and includes Mt Gee, a mountain of quartz crystal lined cavities. Sillers Lookout, at the climax of the tour, provides unforgettable views taking in the Freeling Heights, Yuda Gorge, Lake Frome and the giant fossil-bearing Lake Callabonna.
Embark on an evening tour of the Astronomical Observatory. Arkaroola is one of the best places in the Southern Hemisphere for viewing the stars at night.
Overnight: Arkaroola Wilderness Sanctuary.

Day 4 Arkaroola to Rawnsley Park Station
This morning travel through the Northern Flinders Ranges. Stop briefly at Ithala Awi (Italowie Gorge) to learn about bush tucker. Visit Nepabunna Aboriginal Community, the original mission of the local Adnyamathanha Aboriginal people. Continue to a local Adnyamathanha rock painting site to see traditional paintings dating back thousands of years.
Stop at Mineruta (Ram Paddock Gate) once the original Nepabunna community, and learn about the social history of the Adnyamathanha people. Then visit a spectacular gorge (not accessible to the general public), once a traditional trade route with ancient Aboriginal rock engravings dating back thousands of years.
Lunch is at the Quandong Café in Copley. Travelling back on the highway, you'll pass Leigh Creek before heading into Brachina and Bunyeroo Gorge and checking into Rawnsley Park Station.
Overnight: Rawnsley Park Station. This is award-winning luxury accommodation at a working sheep station. Enjoy dinner in the Woolshed Restaurant and head back for an evening of luxury in the stylish villas.

Day 5 Rawnsley Park Station to Adelaide
After breakfast, your tour heads to a local Aboriginal rock art painting site where you'll hear the story of the creation of Wilpena Pound. Then travel to Clare Valley for a spot of wine tasting with lunch en route to Adelaide.
