The Summer Plan Dining Cashback program is designed to support coastal hospitality businesses and South Australian seafood retailers impacted by the algal bloom. 

This summer, 300,000 Dining Cashbacks were made available to South Australians, giving lucky winners the chance to enjoy to 50% cashback (up to $50) when they dine by the coast or support South Australian seafood retailers.*

Claiming your Cashback

If you were successful in the ballot, here is how to claim your 50% cashback (up to $50)

Step 1: 

Enjoy a meal/food/beverage at a participating business during the dining period and pay your transaction in full.

Most importantly, retain a tax invoice for your transaction. 

Step 2:

Claim your cashback before the end of your dining period, by visiting the claim website below, and upload a copy of your tax invoice (scan/photo). You’ll also need to enter some transaction details, your nominated bank details and cashback code.

Cashback will be paid to your nominated bank account within 5 business days from claim approval.

Is my purchase eligible?

To be eligible for cashback, please ensure:

  • to include a valid tax invoice from a participating business (EFTPOS receipts will not be sufficient)
     
  • if alcohol is purchased, it must be paired with food and be no more than 50% of the total transaction

  • the purchase was not made via a drive-through or a home delivery service

  • your claim total is a minimum of $20 (a maximum of 5 claims per cashback is permitted, with the maximum cashback being $50).

About the Program

The Summer Plan Dining Cashback program is designed to support hospitality businesses and seafood retailers that are directly impacted by the algal bloom over the summer months.  

South Australians were given the opportunity to enter the ballot to win a 50% cashback offer (up to the value of $50) in the monthly draws, to be used at participating coastal venues and seafood retailers. Limitations apply – refer to the Terms and Conditions.

300,000 Dining Cashbacks were available over summer. This was split into five draws to spread the benefit across the summer months, from November 2025 – March 2026.     

The maximum cashback available is $50 per entrant.

The minimum spend is $20 ($10 cashback), however your $50 maximum cashback can be obtained over more than one transaction.

The Ballot

If you are successful in the draw, you will be notified via email and will receive an SMS from ‘DiningCash’ on the date of the draw, including a unique cashback code which will be required to claim your cashback. 

The final draw was on 1 March 2026.

The final draw was held on 1 March 2026. Entrants who do not win a cashback in the final draw will be notified by SMS. 

Your entry ID is the reference to your ballot entry.

If you’re a winner, a cashback code will be provided to you via SMS and email which will state that you have been successful in the draw. The cashback code is 10-characters and is a combination of letters and numbers, all upper case.

There are limitations and exclusions that apply in relation to alcohol and food purchased via a drive-through or for home delivery. 

Participating businesses must be:

  • Hospitality businesses that meet the eligibility criteria, are located in the designated coastal postcodes and serve food and beverages; or
  • South Australian seafood retailers that meet the eligibility criteria.

Participating seafood retailers that meet the eligibility criteria and sell South Australian seafood.

Dining cashback winners will need to spend a minimum of $20 at a participating business during the specified dining period and retain a tax invoice, which includes the business name and Australian Business Number (ABN) of the venue, date of issue, brief description of items purchased, GST amount and total invoice value. An EFTPOS receipt will not be sufficient.

To claim your cashback, head to the dedicated claim website, upload a copy of your tax invoice (scan/photo) and provide your transaction details, nominated bank details and cashback code and provide confirmation that the purchase met the eligibility requirements.  
    
Cashback of 50% of the tax invoice (up to a maximum of $50) will be paid into your nominated bank account within 5 business days after claim approval. 

Winners of the Dining Cashback draws will receive an SMS and email on the day of the draws with a unique 10-character code that includes letters and numbers. This is the code you will need to claim your cashback.

The claim website will not accept the Entry ID - which is the reference number you receive when you enter the ballot.

You will be notified via email once your claim is approved.

Cashback payments are processed within 5 business days from when the claim is approved.

This email is sent from the system when a cashback payment fails to be paid and bounces back. This is usually due to incorrect bank details entered in the claim form.

The 'fulfillment failed' email will advise the error and include a link to update your bank details securely. 

Ensure that the 'Bank Account Name' is the account holder’s name, and not the name of the bank or type of bank account.

There is a minimum transaction of $20, meaning the minimum cashback is $10.  

Cashback will then be determined as 50% of the tax invoice, to a maximum cashback of $50. 

Yes, however there must be one claim submitted per tax invoice, with a minimum spend of $20.

Up to five claims are permitted per cashback code, with the maximum value of cashback being $50 in total.

For example, five $20 transactions (totalling $100) would result in $50 cashback, which is the maximum amount that can be claimed.

No, cashback can be claimed on any food, beverage or seafood purchased from a participating hospitality business or seafood retailer, noting that food from a drive-through or via home delivery is excluded.

If alcohol is purchased, it must be with food and be no more than 50% of the total transaction to be eligible for cashback.

The tax invoice must be in English and include: Business Name, Business ABN, date of purchase, total transaction amount (inc GST) and itemised purchases.

Please note that an EFTPOS receipt is not sufficient.   

Home delivery and drive-through purchases are not eligible for cashback.

If alcohol is purchased, it must be with food and cannot form more than 50% of the value of the transaction. 

Food and beverage purchases only. Please note that gift cards are not considered food and beverage.

Cashback claims must be made for in-person dining experiences at participating coastal hospitality businesses or purchases from a participating seafood retailer.

Yes, dining cashbacks can be claimed any day of the week.  

Cashback winners should treat their visit like any other. While some venues, such as restaurants, may recommend making a booking, others like fish and chip shops typically do not take bookings.  

It is not a requirement to advise the business that you will be claiming your cashback. 

Yes, winners can transfer their cashback code to others. Winners are given a unique code which can be shared to a person of your choice. Please note that vouchers cannot be sold or disposed of for cash or other compensation.
