Big Bend By Night

Self drive to property and board a comfortable covered wagon towed behind a four wheel motorbike (quad bike) that takes you into the bush to view, up close, the wombats, kangaroos and spiders as they come out to feed at night.

Operates: Daily, 7.30pm to 8.30pm approximately.

Self drive to property and enjoy a three-course dinner at sunset as the Big Bend cliffs change colour with the setting sun followed by a spotlighting adventure in a comfortable covered wagon to view the wombats, kangaroos and other native wildlife as they comes out to feed at night.

Operates: Daily (except Wednesday), 5.30pm to 8pm approximately.

Your day begins with pickup from the metropolitan area, Murraylands or Adelaide Hills region - Mannum/Bow Hill, Walker Flat/Swan Reach area, houseboat mooring or location on the River Murray by arrangement. Be greeted with a glass of bubbles and strawberries on arrival and enjoy morning tea the South Australian Company Store. Visit four wineries for wine tasting in the area. Enjoy lunch amongst the wine barrels at Chateau Tanunda and visit a lively country pub on return journey. This tour can be taken in a 12 seat minibus or luxury limousine "The Entertainer".

This tour is available to houseboat hirers located at the Big Bend River Murray 229 kilometre marker (Swan Reach/Nildottie). We will pick you up from your houseboat in a "gypsy wagon" style cart behind a quad motorbike and transfer you to a covered River Murray lagoon edge location amongst the bullrushes and reeds for breakfast of a combination of both traditional and bush tucker foods including kangaroo sausages, marinated rabbit strips, eggs poached in samphire, wattle seed toast and pancakes, bush tomato and quandong chutneys, jams, kutjera sauce, desert passion berry syrup and Billy tea. After breakfast we will return you back to your houseboat.

Operates: Daily from houseboat located at Big Bend River Murray 229 kilometre marker (Swan Reach/Nildottie) by arrangement, 8am to 10am.
