Lake Eyre Only Three Day Tour - SATC17

We depart Adelaide and travel through the northern suburbs and the Adelaide Plains to the Clare Valley. Visit the Sevenhill Winery and Church, South Australia’s first winery. Continue through the Southern Flinders Ranges to Hawker. Travel through central Flinders Ranges via Bunyeroo and Brachina Gorge then continue past Leigh Creek, Lyndhurst to Marree where we overnight. On day two take an early morning flight over Lake Eyre. After flight visit the Arabunna aboriginal museum then follow the Oodnadatta track to Lake Eyre South. Stop at Lake Eyre South and put your feet in the water. Have lunch looking out over the Lake before travelling to Woomera via Roxby Downs. After breakfast visit the Woomera Rocket Park and Museum before travelling south along the Stuart Highway to Pt Augusta and Adelaide. After lunch in Port Augusta we make a beeline for Adelaide.

Have a browse around Marree to view the history of the old railway town, Tom Kruse the Birdsville mail man, an open air mosque and the Arabunna aboriginal museum. Travel the Oodnadatta Track and visit Lake Eyre South, the Mound Springs and the William Creek Pub where we stay overnight. On day four take a drive out to the shores of Lake Eyre and view the water and bird life at Halligan Bay. Travel to Woomera via the Bore field road to Olympic Dam and Roxby Downs and visit the Woomera heritage centre. Overnight at Woomera.
On day five travel to Adelaide via Port Augusta and the coast road. Visit the Wadlata Outback Centre and view one of the longest wooden jetties in the southern hemisphere.

On day two travel through central Flinders Ranges via Brachina Gorge. Visit Wilpena Pound and view Australian wildlife at peace with nature. View the pioneering heritage of the area and visit the Quandong Cafe, Leigh Creek Coalfields, Talc Alf, the Ochre Pits and Farina. Overnight in Maree. On day three have a browse around Marree to view the history of the old railway town, Tom Kruse the Birdsville mail man, an open air mosque and the Arabunna aboriginal museum. Travel the Oodnadatta Track. Visit Lake Eyre South, the Mound Springs, Halligan Bay and the William Creek Pub.
Overnight at William Creek. On day four take a scenic flight over Lake Eyre and travel to Coober Pedy. View Australia’s longest fence and the Breakaways.
Overnight underground accommodation at Coober Pedy. On day five visit Underground Motel, Umoona Mine and other Coober Pedy Sites before travelling to Woomera to stay overnight and visit the Woomera heritage centre. On day six travel to Port Augusta and Adelaide. Visit the Wadlata Outback Centre
