Red Gorge is the 'gallery' of engravings dated at some 90,000 plus years old that is a very special and spiritual place to the Adnyamathanha people at Iga Warta. Visitors will enjoy the peaceful and serene surroundings, whilst on the quite walk and on their return through the Gorge as the Adnyamathanha Guide shares the interpretation. Lunch is served in a tranquil river (creek) bed.

Visitors to Iga Warta have the opportunity to try their hand in the ancient art of artefact making. They can make a boomerang or clapping sticks, which they can then take home with them. Visitors find this a very therapeutic pass time and many spend hours making their special souvenirs.

We have a resident Aboriginal artist from Coober Pedy at Iga Warta and she offers sessions in her people's traditional art forms. Again visitors are given the opportunity to make their own special souvenir as part of these sessions. This enables the visitor to learn about the differences between Aboriginal groups and their cultures and art.
