The Mary Ellen is a luxurious two bedroom, rustic log cabin nestled in a magnificent bushland setting on Eleanor River Homestead. Eleanor River Homestead is a 250 acre property located on the banks of the Eleanor River and lies amongst the many rolling hills and valleys in the heart of Kangaroo Island.

This fully self contained cabin is ideally suited for the self drive visitor to Kangaroo Island and is conveniently located to all major attractions. Just 10 minutes from Seal Bay, 15 minutes from Vivonne Bay, 35 minutes from the wonders of Flinders Chase National Park and nearby to the Parndana Wildlife Park and historic Soldier Settler Museum plus much more, we present an ideal location from which you can base your island tour.

Take a day off touring and meander through the natural paths to explore our unique bushland. These paths lead to the decking and relaxation area on the Eleanor River where you can enjoy a picnic, or just take a stroll along the banks and numerous paths to experience the beauty of this spring fed river and its unique surroundings in the company of the many species of native birds and wildlife including kangaroos, wallabies, possums, koalas, echidnas, goannas, Fairy Wrens, superb Scarlet Robins, Wedge Tailed Eagles and the endangered Glossy Black Cockatoo and at the end of the day relax on the cabin verandah to see the kangaroos grazing whilst experiencing our amazing sunsets across the rolling hills and valley.
