Departing from Adelaide this fully accommodated tour travels toward Lake Eyre via the Clare Valley and Flinders Ranges. Visit the spectacular Wilpena Pound this afternoon with some free time to go for a walk into the Pound. Overnight in the heart of the Flinders Ranges.
Next morning, travel through the beautiful Bunyeroo Valley and Brachina Gorge, a couple of the Flinders' highlights. Another Flinders’ highlight now - lunch at the famous Prairie Hotel! After lunch, we travel past Leigh Creek to Lyndhurst. From Lyndhurst, we travel on unsealed roads and tracks through to Marree for our overnight stay. The country through here is steeped in history, from the Overland Telegraph Line to Camel Trains and the historic Ghan Rail Line.
An early morning flight will take in Lake Eyre, and, if the Cooper flood reaches the Birdsville track, will fly over this region also. After the flight, we will travel to Lake Eyre South along the famous Oodnadatta Track. Return to Marree for our overnight stay.
Depart Marree and travel past the Flinders Ranges again, through Hawker, Quorn and Port Augusta. Highway 1 past Port Pirie and Port Wakefield will bring us back to Adelaide by approximately 6pm.
The price includes all meals while on tour from lunch on day one to lunch on day four and scenic flight.
