Simpson Desert 12 Day Tag-Along Tour

The first white man to view the Simpson Desert was Charles Sturt in 1845 when he discovered and named Eyre Creek. Ted Colson first crossed the desert by camel in 1936 followed by Cecil Madigan in 1939, but it was not until 1962 that Reg and Griselda Sprigg and their young family accomplished the first crossing by vehicle. Experience the real outback with Red Earth Expeditions. Follow in the historic footsteps of many great Australian explorers and encounter the remoteness endured by those who journeyed here in the past.

This is a self catered camping tour. You will need to bring your own food and drink and carry at least an extra two days food and water in case inclement weather causes track closures.

Sea, Sand and Salt Lakes 14 Day Tag-Along Tour

See, sand and salt-lakes, the best of the Eyre Peninsula and Gawler Ranges. This tour offers you a diversity of four wheel driving that is hard to match. From the rocky trails on Mount Ive Station, the dunes of Fowlers Bay and Goog’s Track you will not be wanting for off-road travel challenges. We combine this with the opportunity to experience beautiful Lake Gairdner. The contrast between its blindingly white surface and the red of the surrounding rocks and hills is breathtaking. Travelling along the coast the extraordinary emerald ocean contrasts with almost pure white beaches, another unforgettable memory. One more is the taste of oysters harvested fresh from the ocean. To complete this wonderful trip we take a water tour that follows in the wake of Matthew Flinders. This self catered tag-along tour is suitable for appropriately equipped four wheel drive vehicles with high clearance and low range.

Anangu Song Lines and Explorers Tracks 14 Day Tour

Join us for a once in a life-time opportunity to learn of and experience traditional law and culture many thousands of years old. In partnership with Desert Tracks and the Angangu Pitjantjajara people of Central Australia we are proud to offer you the chance to have the traditional owners show us their country and culture. Our fourteen day 4WD tour takes us into traditional land, escorted by Anganu guides. Their local knowledge is vital as, for part of the journey, there are no tracks. We will be visiting traditional sites and listening to the Elders explain to us how work, song, dance, story telling and art are part of a living culture many thousands of years old. Rough red dirt tracks to Uluru from where we head to Mt Connor the third icon of central Australia. We then follow the tracks of early European explorers with a dusty, rocky drive to Chambers Pillar, Mt Dare, Dalhousie Springs, Oodnadatta and visiting the highlights of the Oodnadatta Track. At Port Augusta we finish our tour in the wake of Mathew Flinders.
