2. Bite into a smorgasbord of fine food and wine
Tell me more: In South Australia, exceptional food and world-famous wine are a way of life. Adelaide is a culinary playground with a delicious mix of fine dining restaurants, award-winning cafes, bustling food markets and booming boutique bars. Sip and savour Australia’s best produce, served straight to your plate in the heart of our city.
Thirsty? South Australia is home to 18 wine regions and has officially been named a Great Wine Capital of the World. The Barossa is Australia’s gourmet capital, home to some of the world’s most prestigious wine labels, while The Adelaide Hills’ handpicked produce can’t be beaten. Sink your teeth into some of the freshest seafood you’ll ever taste on our Eyre and Fleurieu peninsulas, or bite into quintessential bush tucker in the Flinders Ranges and Outback.
3. Soak up the sun at our beautiful beaches
Tell me more: South Australia’s sand and surf are virtually inescapable. Beach babes of both genders will be in heaven at our stunning city beaches, while those with an adventurous spirit can try their luck at some of the country’s most epic surf spots. Want to get away from it all? Eyre Peninsula, Fleurieu Peninsula and Kangaroo Island are top summer holiday spots, home to some of Australia’s most beautiful stretches of coast. Looking for the best of both worlds? The Yorke Peninsula's coastline stretches on for a whopping 700 kilometres, while the Limestone Coast's Robe is one of our most popular (and picturesque) summer holiday towns.

4. Party in Adelaide: capital of Australia's Best Event State
Tell me more: When we say we're the country's events capital, we mean it! South Australia was named Australia's Best Event State for the second year running at the 2016 Australian Event Awards. In January, February and March, when nights are at their longest and balmiest, Adelaide enters party overdrive. In the space of a few months, our capital is host to the massive Adelaide Fringe Festival, Adelaide Festival of Arts, WOMADelaide, Tour Down Under and Clipsal 500 Adelaide. And it doesn’t stop there. The Cabaret Festival and Guitar Festival warm up the (very mild) winter months, while OzAsia, the Adelaide Film Festival and Feast Festival kick-off in spring.
