Food and Wine
Some things just go together like
Knife and fork, music and dance, bed and breakfast. In Adelaide, it’s food and wine.
Adelaide is Australia’s wine capital, where famous names roll off the tongue more easily than a Barossa Shiraz slips down your throat.
There are household names, from Penfolds, Yalumba, Wolf Blass and Jacob’s Creek, to boutique estates. There are wine regions all throughout South Australia. Head north to the Barossa Valley, Eden Valley and Clare Valley.
The wine capital of Australia
The National Wine Centre of Australia in Adelaide showcases the Australian wine industry in a creatively designed building that embraces the essence of wineries. There’s an interactive wine discovery tour, wine tasting and á la carte food.

Walk under the majestic Paifong (entrances) at either end of bustling Moonta Street to experience Chinatown’s restaurants, markets and grocery stores.
Finest produce
There’s nothing quite like the 140 year old Adelaide Central Market. It has more than 80 stalls, shops and cafés. Go once and you’ll be back for more. The producers sell directly to you at the Adelaide Showground Farmers’ Market. It’s simply the best way to spend a Sunday morning.

The finer things in life
