Fleurieu Peninsula Camping

A coastal camping holiday

The Fleurieu Peninsula is perfect for your next camping holiday. It’s close enough to go for a weekend and far enough away to feel like you’ve had a rest.

Camping on Tanunkalilla Beach, Fleurieu Peninsula, South Australia

Less than an hour south of Adelaide, the Fleurieu Peninsula is a dramatic mix of cliffs, surf and pristine beaches. You'll find great camping spots and many boast spectacular views and facilities. Camp in the wilderness or at a caravan park.

Deep Creek Conservation Park

Deep Creek Conservation Park has five campgrounds to choose from and is a bushwalker's delight. It's also the start of the Heysen Trail and this beautiful and challenging clifftop walk is one of the many highlights of the area.

A short hike will give you spectacular views over Backstairs Passage, the stretch of water between Cape Jervis and Kangaroo Island. There's 18 kilometres of stunning coastline to admire.

See echidnas, kangaroos and sea eagles in the natural setting, between lush vegetated valleys of yacka and beautiful bushland.

Newland Head Conservation Park

Roll out of your tent right next to the beach at the Waitpinga Campground in the Newland Head Conservation Park.

It's a great place to base yourself for beach fishing with plenty of spots nearby to catch a mulloway or two for the camp barbecue.

Get your walking shoes on and hit the trail from the bush campground, up rolling hills and past rugged cliffs, enjoying panoramic views of Waitpinga Creek, Encounter Bay, Backstairs Passage and Kangaroo Island.

Aldinga and McLaren Vale

Aldinga Beach Holiday Park will let you feel like you’re ‘roughing it’ in the bush but with modern facilities close at hand. The Willunga Farmers’ Market is on every Saturday and has everything you need to eat like royalty.

Aldinga also has some great fishing spots, so you can catch your own dinner if you prefer. Check out hiking trails and Hindmarsh Falls.

McLaren Vale Lakeside Caravan Park has basic campsites through to comfortable cabins. It's set in the heart of the McLaren Vale wine region and is ideal for families with a swimming pool, tennis courts and playground. It’s a great base location for touring the Fleurieu Peninsula and local wineries in McLaren Vale

The Goolwa Caravan Park has a range of campsites and cabins, as well as spacious grass areas, picnic and barbecue settings.

It’s a great location for visiting the Coorong, Murray Mouth, local art and craft galleries, wineries and beaches.

Grab the tent and come and camp on the Fleurieu Peninsula.
