A wild island with wild stories

With dramatic cliffs and pristine, secluded beaches, Kangaroo Island is a natural wonder without peer. Historically rich, the island was first sighted by European explorer Captain Matthew Flinders.

Wildlife on the island has to be seen to be believed - with kangaroos and wallabies, Australian sea lions and New Zealand fur seals, goannas, echidnas, koalas, bandicoots and pygmy possums all calling the island home.

Fly to Kangaroo Island or take your car on the SeaLink Ferry. Regional Express (REX) provides direct flights from Adelaide to Kingscote Airport on Kangaroo Island. A couple hour’s drive from Adelaide, the SeaLink ferry takes you across the water to Penneshaw. There are three departures each day and extra services during peak times.
