Barossa Cooking Schools
Eat, drink, and Be Consumed
Pair yourself with a master in the kitchen, add tender asparagus, heritage pork, fresh olive oil and creamy yellow eggs – just some of the fresh produce the Barossa has to offer this season; and you have probably found yourself at one of Barossa’s cooking schools.
Whet your appetite with delicious, seasonal Barossa ingredients turned into creative, mouth watering meals you can re-create at home.
A range of classes are on offer and all combine traditional and contemporary flavours of Barossa and pass their knowledge, methods and secrets on to you, their budding new chefs.
Buy fresh produce straight from the Barossa Farmers Markets and let Casa Carboni’s, Matteo Carboni, teach you Italian recipes at his hands on cooking classes, cooking demonstrations and children’s cooking classes. Let Food Luddite’s chef, Mark McNamara teach you how to cook well by using good food and a hands on approach. Changing with the seasons, Food Luddite hold their classes in a range of commercial and ‘manor’ house kitchens, to a rural barn and cellar door.
Maggie Beer’s Farm Shop offers a free daily verjuice demonstration and a range of cooking classes including demonstrations and lunch. Next door at The Farm Barossa Function Centre, an architecturally designed building, daughter Ellie offers exclusive bookings for interactive group cooking schools.
Join Jacob’s Creek Visitor Centre Executive Chef and learn how to prepare a gourmet meal, picking fresh produce from the kitchen garden and then enjoy your creations with a range of Jacob’s Creek wines. Carême Pastry Cooking Classes in Tanunda offer intimate classes at their Pastry Kitchen where you will learn the finer points on cooking with pastry and simple tips and technique by chef and owner of Carême, William.
