Riverland Adventures
Fun on land and water
You will find adventure around every bend of the Murray River, Australia’s greatest waterway. South Australia’s Riverland is no exception, with the region providing the perfect opportunity for houseboating, fishing, canoeing, boating, water skiing, and swimming.
Kayaking in the Riverland
Whether you bring your own, hire from one of the local operators or join a tour with a qualified guide, kayaking and canoeing is the perfect way to surround yourself with the peace and serenity of the river, lagoons and creeks.
Join a BMS tour and cruise along the river and its tranquil backwaters onboard Missy or the airboat Elka while viewing birds in their natural habitat. Lake Bonney, near Barmera, is just the place for canoeing, skiing, sailing and other fun watersports, plus there are many safe, sheltered spots for swimming.
Keep your feet dry at Monash Adventure Park where kids of all ages can join in the fun. Climb crazy leaning towers, a Burmese rope bridge or wave bridge, play a game of mini basketball, or attempt the flying fox. Hire a houseboat with family or friends and cruise the Murray River at your own pace. Moor each night on the river’s sandy banks and explore the diversity of the Riverland.
