Stay in the Barossa

Taste the good life

With its patchwork of paddocks and abundance of local produce, it’s no surprise the Barossa boasts an array of options for discerning diners. New to the scene is Kingsford Homestead, which was launched in June and is known internationally as the setting for television drama series McLeod’s Daughters. Now this historic home has been reinvented as a luxury retreat, and guests can relax while enjoying meals prepared by celebrated local chef Stuart Oldfield.

Kingsford Homestead Kingsford Homestead, Barossa

Kingsford’s menu takes inspiration from the fare settlers enjoyed way back in 1856, when the homestead was built. Today’s meals celebrate all that is fresh, seasonal and grown just around the corner.

In the heart of the Barossa you’ll find Hentley Farm, which opened a new restaurant in autumn. Dine in the property’s beautifully restored stables overlooking the vineyard. Embrace a range of flavours matched to distinctive wines. The Discovery Menu is the ultimate long lunch, with daily dishes and restaurant staples. Those with a little less time can opt for the du jour menu, which features four dishes selected by Hentley Farm’s chefs. Lunch or dinner at this new Barossa treasure is the perfect way to stave off winter’s chill.
